Linda Amaikwu-Rushing, NP

Linda gradated in 2003 with a Master's of Arts in Nursing from the College of St. Catherine. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Wilkes University. Prior to joining MAPS, Linda worked at Health Partners Regions Hospitals as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. She has also worked at the Minute Clinic, Fairview Regions Hospital and Fairview Home Care. Linda is involved in many associations, such as the American Academy of Nurse Practioners and the Society of Hospital Medicine. Linda sees patients exclusively at our Midway location.

Jim Anway, CNP

Jim earned his Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and his Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Portland. He then continued on to earn his Masters Degree in Nursing also at the University of Portland in Portland, Oregon. Jim joined MAPS in 2000 and sees all types of patients, but is specialized in treating patients with musculoskeletal pain, neuropathic pain and pelvic pain. He currently sees patients exclusively in our Edina clinic location.

Lisa Benedetto, CNP

Lisa is a nurse practitioner with extensive experience who has provided pain management services for a variety of acute and chronic pain conditions for MAPS since 1998. Lisa received her undergraduate nursing degree from the College of Benedict and her Masters Degree of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Minnesota. She has also worked in the hospital setting performing inpatient consults and managing patients. Lisa is a member of the American College of Nurse Practitioners and the American Academy of Pain Management.

Jessica Braun, CNP

Jessica earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing degree from Gustavus Adolphus College in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She went on to earn her Masters Degree in Family Nurse Practitioner from Mankato State University. Jessica has worked in family practice as well as college health. Jessica enjoys attending her children’s activities, running and reading.

Diane Budnick, CNP

Diane joined the MAPS staff in September 2004. She is certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. Diane earned her nurse practitioner certificate from the University of Southern Maine, her bachelor's and master's degree from the University of Wisconsin. She has practiced as a nurse practitioner for 33 years including work in the military, veterans affairs hospital system and private practice. Diane performs evaluations and sees patients for their medication management needs exclusively at our Fridley clinic site.

Mary Esslinger, CNP

Mary joined the MAPS staff in 2004. She is board certified as an adult nurse practitioner as well as a pediatric nurse practitioner. Mary obtained her Masters degree and pediatric nurse practitioner certification from the College of St. Catherine in 1993. She received her adult nurse practitioner certification after graduating from the College of St. Catherine in 2004. Mary is involved in MAPS Chronic Pain Program and sees patients exclusively at our Edina office.

Scott Faust, CNP

Scott has extensive clinical experience as NP as a hospitalist providing, directing, coordinating and managing the care of hospitalized critically and acutely ill/ injured patients. After completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Texas at Arlington, Scott went on to Loyola University Chicago to earn a Masters degree in Emergency Nursing where he also completed advanced training as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Prior to becoming a NP, his nursing background included: adult critical care, level I and II trauma and flight nursing. Scott is currently in the process of completing a doctoral degree. His research interests include palliative care, nursing education and public policy. Outside his work at MAPS, Scott enjoys running, martial arts, reading and spending time with his wife and daughter. Scott's focus is to provide evidenced based, quality effective patient care and considers it a honor assisting those afflicted with acute and chronic pain regain their lives.

Lisa A. Finley, CNP

Lisa graduated from The College of Saint Benedict in 1994 with a Bachelors Degree in nursing. She worked for Minneapolis Veterans Hospital and for Fairview Southdale Hospital as a registered nurse for 7 years. She gained experience in many areas of nursing including orthopedics, neurology, general surgery and pediatrics. She went back to school in 1999 and attended the University of Minnesota. She graduated in 2001 earning her degree for Nurse Practitioner with a minor in complimentary studies. She is certified with the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She worked in retail health care for the first year after graduation. She was hired by Medical Advanced Pain Specialist and worked with them for almost seven years and then left MAPS to gain more experience. She worked with the Orthopedic Trauma surgeons at Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) doing both clinic and inpatient patient care for just over three years. She was rehired by MAPS in 2011 and is now working in the Midway clinic. When not managing chronic pain patients in the clinic, she enjoys playing with, learning from and raising her daughter. She is gaining proficiency and endurance in a running and exercise program. She also enjoys gardening and home improvement projects.

Deanna Germain, CNP

Deanna joined the MAPS staff in October 2002. She attended Ancker School of Nursing and did her undergraduate studies for her Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree at Augsburg College in Minneapolis. She completed her Master's Degree in Nursing at University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire. Ms. Germain currently sees patients exclusively at our Fridley clinic location.

Sharon Grundtner, CNP

 

Sharon received her Post Master's Nurse Practitioner certification from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia after working 10 years in Advanced Practice Nursing. She earned her Master's in Nursing from Louisiana State University, her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska and also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Minnesota. She has a broad range of experience, including general practice, internal medicine, heart and lung transplant and a special interest in diabetes. She has also worked with patients concerned with chemical dependency. Sharon incorporates complimentary and alternative therapies with traditional approaches. Outside of MAPS, Sharon enjoys spending time with her family, scuba diving, travel and exploring other cultures. Sharon sees patients exclusively at our Midway Clinic location.

Christa Jensen, CNP

Christa joined the MAPS staff in July 2004. She is a Certified Nurse Practitioner and earned her Masters degree in Nursing at the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, Minnesota. Ms. Jensen is also the Nurse Practitioner/Physicians Assistant Division Manager for the MAPS clinic. Prior to starting at MAPS, she worked in a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) in western South Dakota. Christa is the manager of the Nurse Practitoners and Physician Assistants at our Maple Grove clinic and is currently seeing patients exclusively at this location.

Gwen Kosevich, CNP

Gwen joined the MAPS staff in April 2012. After earning a Bachelors degree in Nursing, Gwen then went on to earn her Masters Degree in Nursing from Metro State University in 2005. Prior to joining MAPS Gwen worked in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Regions Hospital, where she was a Charge and Staff nurse for ten years. Gwen has experience with both inpatient and outpatient at United and Abbott Hospitals. Outside of work, Gwen enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. She also enjoys spending time walking, cross country skiing, aerobics, singing and laughing. Gwen sees patients exclusively at our Midway clinic location.

Angela Larson, CNP

Angie joined the MAPS team in July 2001 as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She received a Bachelor's degree in nursing at Penn State University and completed her Master's in Nursing at the University of North Carolina. She has worked for University of North Carolina Hospitals for many years prior to moving to Minnesota. Over the past several years, she has been able to balance her career and her family with two young children by working part-time. After working at several of MAPS locations, she now focuses her time seeing patients exclusively in our Edina clinic.

Erv London, CNP

Erv has been with MAPS since November 2003 as a Certified Nurse Practitioner. Both his undergraduate and graduate degrees are from The College of St Scholastica, Duluth, MN. He is board certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. Mr. London's professional Registered Nursing experience was in the specialty of Adult Cardiology. As a retired Lieutenant Colonel, Assistant Chief Nurse he proudly served twenty six years for the Minnesota Air National Guard. Mr. London sees patients at our Fridley and Chaska clinic locations.

Jeanne Morizio, CNP

Jeanne graduated from the College of St. Teresa in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. After working a number of years in both the clinical setting as well as industry, she went on to earn her Master's Degree from the University of Minnesota in Nursing in 2009 as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Before coming to MAPS, Ms. Morizio worked in med/surg, ICU, CCU, Urgent Care and as a School Nurse. In the area of industry, her experience is in Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs for Baxter Healthcare. She has also been a Nurse Consultant and Wellness Coordinator for The NutraSweet Company's corporate headquarters in Chicago. Away from work, she enjoys reading and crossword puzzles.

Nancy Schmidt, CNP

Nancy has worked for MAPS since May of 2008. Nancy recieved her RN undergraduate degree from the College of St. Scholastica and then went to work at the Mayo Clinic specializing in Nephrology as a RN and subsequently obtained her Masters Degree in Nursing at the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire in 2001. After that she relocated to the Twin Cities and worked with Dr. Samuel K. Yue at the Bethesda Pain Clinic and left with him when he opened up his own practice in Lake Elmo. Nancy stayed with him until May of 2008 at which time she came to MAPS and started seeing patients at our Shakopee and Edina clinic locations.

Anne Schwemm, CNP

Anne Schwemm earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2003 for University of Iowa. She went on to earn her Master Degree in Nursing in 2006 from University of Iowa as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Anne has experience working in both the burn unit as well as the emergency department. Outside of MAPS, Anne enjoys spending time with her husband and their two young children, as well as running.

Pat Tomshine, CNP

Pat is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. She is also certified in Public Health Nursing. Prior to joining MAPS, Ms. Tomshine worked as a primary care provider in an internal medicine clinic. Other nursing experience has been in neurosurgery gastroenterology. Research experience has been in the area of computer assisted patient education.

Anne Trujillo, CNP

Anne is the Director of Clinical Operations at MAPS Pain Clinics in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She received her undergraduate nursing degree from the University of Iowa and Masters Degree of Science in Nursing with specialization as a family nurse practitioner from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. She has devoted her career to pain management and has worked at MAPS since 2000. She enjoys a multidisciplinary interventional pain clinic setting, working collaboratively with physicians specializing in pain medicine, physical therapists and psychologists. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the Minnesota Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (MSIPP) and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (ASIPP). In her free time, Anne enjoys running and spending time with her husband and two daughters.
